This is a Push Pull 250 triode amplifier .

227 triode preamp tubes driving an interstage transformer (not seen).

The power supply is a choke input pi filter with 280 full wave rectifer.

I veneried the steel chassis with teak ( I encourage you to try this!)

Below is a 250 globe monoblock

845 Monoblock with a 485 Driver

This was a Project that I got the most build requests for.

I got the Idea from a "Valve" magazine project that used a 10Y as a driver.

With a indirect heated tube like the 485 there is dead silence (zero hum).

I used 5V 83 vapor between 2 Stancor chokes  

This is a 845 Monoblock with a 6SN7 or 6SL7 preamp stack into an old 3.0V filiment 485 triode 

The 485 is cathode biased and gets its 3.0V filament from the 6SN7 6.3V center tap

There is a seperate 10V center tap filament transfomer with a omhlite hum pot.
